A atuação do farmacêutico na vigilância sanitária e sua contribuição para a efetividade da legislação brasileira

Abstract

A Farmácia desempenha um papel essencial na promoção da saúde pública, sendo responsável pela pesquisa, manipulação e controle de medicamentos. No contexto brasileiro, a atuação do farmacêutico está diretamente vinculada à legislação sanitária, especialmente às normas estabelecidas pela Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa), que visam garantir a qualidade e a segurança dos produtos e serviços farmacêuticos. Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a atuação do farmacêutico frente à legislação sanitária brasileira, especialmente no que tange ao cumprimento das normas estabelecidas pela Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa). A pesquisa, de natureza bibliográfica, baseia-se em artigos acadêmicos, legislação pertinente, doutrinas e outras fontes relevantes para compreender o papel do farmacêutico no contexto das normas de vigilância sanitária e no controle de medicamentos e insumos no Brasil. Através da revisão da literatura, foi possível evidenciar que o farmacêutico exerce uma função essencial no cumprimento das regulamentações da Anvisa, sendo responsável pela qualidade e segurança dos medicamentos e serviços farmacêuticos. Sua atuação abrange desde a orientação e supervisão no manejo de medicamentos até a verificação e garantia da conformidade com as exigências sanitárias, visando a proteção da saúde pública, dentre outras questões importantes. Até o momento, conclui-se que a atuação do farmacêutico é essencial para a efetiva implementação da legislação sanitária no Brasil, mas a pesquisa não oferece uma conclusão definitiva sobre a totalidade do impacto dessa atuação, sendo necessário mais aprofundamento para consolidar as conclusões sobre a eficácia da legislação e o papel do farmacêutico na sua execução.

Pharmacy plays an essential role in promoting public health, being responsible for the research, compounding, and control of medicines. In the Brazilian context, the pharmacist’s work is directly linked to health legislation, especially to the regulations established by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), which aim to ensure the quality and safety of pharmaceutical products and services. This study aims to analyze the pharmacist’s role in relation to Brazilian health legislation, particularly regarding compliance with the standards set by Anvisa. The research, of a bibliographic nature, is based on academic articles, relevant legislation, legal doctrines, and other pertinent sources to understand the pharmacist’s role within the framework of health surveillance standards and the control of medicines and pharmaceutical inputs in Brazil. Through a literature review, it was possible to highlight that the pharmacist performs an essential function in complying with Anvisa’s regulations, being responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of medicines and pharmaceutical services. Their professional activity includes guidance and supervision in the handling of medicines, as well as verification and assurance of conformity with sanitary requirements, aiming to protect public health, among other important aspects. In conclusion, the pharmacist’s role is fundamental for the effective implementation of health legislation in Brazil. However, the study does not provide a definitive conclusion about the full extent of this impact, indicating the need for further research to consolidate findings on the effectiveness of the legislation and the pharmacist’s role in its execution.
