No entanto,
a demanda estudantil.
eficiente e personalizado.
The present study linked to the Postgraduate Program in Education and New Technologies at UNINTER, within the research line Teacher Training and New Technologies in Education and linked to the research group GIAAE - Research Group on Artificial Intelligence Applied to Education, aims to analyze a virtual assistant within a specific Learning Management System (LMS), namely the UNIVIRTUS LMS of the International University Center (UNINTER), and thus investigate how such technology can offer technical, administrative and academic support to students of a specific course offered in the distance learning modality. Given this, the analysis of the possible presence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on this environment is also considered, in order to evaluate how human-computer interaction (HCI) can be enhanced by it. Thus, the research methodology of this work includes a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and a mixed research, using data collected from students' interactions with the platform's virtual assistant, known as Tere, and a questionnaire applied to students. The results show that machine programming is capable of improving student satisfaction by providing continuous support in an automated way for repetitive tasks, so that students have part of their technical doubts solved. However, regarding the appropriation of AI, especially when we talk about the current version of the technology, that is, Generative Artificial Intelligence, this is not yet present in the virtual assistant investigated nor in other chatbots analyzed in the SLR, therefore, a more direct interaction for academic support is not yet available, which is a deficiency to be investigated, possibly implemented and thus satisfy student demand. Finally, the dissertation concludes that the implementation of virtual assistants in LMS is an effective strategy to promote student interactivity and engagement, contributing to a more efficient and personalized educational process.
