This research, linked to the Post-Graduate Program in Education and New Technologies, of the UNINTER International University Center, under the line of research Teacher Training and New Technologies, has as its theme: the teaching of English at the interface of the city as an educating space. Its general objective is to analyze the research available in the CAPES Theses and Dissertations Catalog and in the BDTD that deal with English language teaching in high school in the interface with the city as an educating space in the search for gaps, contributions and trends. The methodological option is supported by a qualitative research, descriptive and exploratory in nature through state of the art research (ROMANOWSKY; ENS, 2006). The data obtained were systematized and analyzed using the technique of content analysis of Bardin (2016). This result revealed the scarcity of academic works that address both the descriptors “English language” and “educating cities”, which led the researcher to choose only the descriptor “educating cities” without the time frame. With the analysis of the works, four codes were created according to the incidence in the researches. The four codes in ascending order of incidence were: a) integral education, b) citizenship, c) non-formal education and d) public policies. The four codes relate to the Charter of Educating Cities and the ten competencies of the BNCC for primary and secondary education. This research sought to establish a relationship between English language learning in the educating city, for which it aligned concepts of heritage education, principles of the Charter of Educating Cities and discursive genres in English language teaching in high school in a state public school in the city of Curitiba. In effect, the product of this research resulted in a guide to English language learning in the educating city of Curitiba.
